Barcelona!!

So after leaving Madrid we took a 3 hour train to Bacrelona. When we arrived we were welco,ed like we were in every other place by, a light drizzle but by the time we checked into our cute little hostel it had stopped. Since there was so much to see, we thought wer would start early and attacked the Sagrada Familia and the Park Guell which is up a god awful hill but thankfully they put in escalators for us. It is a breathtakingly beautiful scenic park; it has a wonderful view overlooking all of Barcelona and contains some of Gaudi`s finest works.

Chelsea- The best part about Parque Guell was the famous Gaudi tunnel that the girls from America`s Next Top Model used for their finalè runway!!!! Also, the film Vicky Christina Barcelona was filmed in part of the park!!!

John- Wowww.....

Chelsea-Shut up, you were just as excited as me. The most intriguing thing about the Sagrada Familia is that it is the only structure that you are not unhappy about seeing under construction; in fact, you are witnessing history.

Though Mondays are usually the worst day of the week, we spent it lying on a beach in Barcelona after walking down the famous La Rambla. We also checked out the Pedrera as well as a few other works by Gaudi, and stopped for smoothies in a famous market on La Rambla.

We managed to make some friends in our cozy hostel and even went to a fountain musical show held on weekends in front of the national art museum (which we saw earlier that day). It was magical and amusing because they even played Queen`s song "Barcelona" and had the colors and waterworks show match up to the song rhythm!

It is a very beautiful city, probably better equipped for tourists than Madrid, and we had a fantastic 2 days there.
